Last Days Hypocrisy

There was only one kind of person that Jesus detested, and that was the religious. Why? Because religious people are hypocritical. They look good on the outside, but are lawless, dead, and full of wickedness on the inside.

PROPHECY:

Thus Says The LORD,

When I return, I will welcome those who have kept My Word into My Kingdom. Many honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.

I desire people who will love Me with all their heart. I want you to be set apart. Devoted to Me. In this life I have given you. There is much temptation and testing. You are given the freedom to walk away from Me, your God. As well as the freedom to make the commitment to stand with Me through every trial and temptation.

I do not desire you to be apart from Me. I want you to be a light in a dark world. Stand bright for your God as you live righteously.

Many people think they know Me. Many people talk about Me as if I am their friend. I am not a friend to those who are hypocrites. I do not stand with those who use My name for their own glory. I do not love the sin. I detest hypocrisy and do not tolerate people justifying sin and using My name to appear righteous.

I am being patient in My return, so all people can repent. I know the heart of every person. I understand the depth of the heart and how deceiving it is. I know when someone is truly sorrowful for a sin committed, and when someone is going through the motions.

I ask that you do not give in to hypocrisy. Instead, pray and seek Me. Ask Me to help you by My Holy Spirit to live righteously. I am a compassionate God. I am the God who will extend mercy and grace. I am full of compassion.

Stay committed to Me by living a life that reflects I am your God.

Says The LORD.

MESSAGE:

This prophecy shares God’s heart on a serious topic: hypocrisy. No person will admit they are hypocritical. However, I will reveal how deception keeps people thinking they are justified in sin, even though they dive headfirst into hell.

The root of hypocrisy is a religious spirit. This type of spirit keeps a person in a place of thinking they are in right standing with God, even when not. They look the part, have all the right words, and act correctly. Though underneath, they are full of wickedness. In fact, the scripture reveals that many people will walk away from Jesus because they deny the power of God taking effect in their lives.

I first want to address the word hypocrisy in scripture. In 1 Timothy 4:1-5 (NKJV) we read: [4:1] Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, [2] speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, [3] forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. [4] For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving; [5] for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

The people in this passage had rules and regulations. They had something that looked religious. Though the word hypocrisy is what needs to be addressed here. The reason is that when we understand the meaning of the word hypocrisy. We can understand what it means to “depart from the faith and yield to deceiving spirits and following a doctrine of demons”.

The word hypocrisy in the second verse of 1 Timothy 4 is the Greek word Strong’s G5272. ὑπόκρισις hupókrisis, hoop-ok'-ree-sis; acting under a feigned part; that is, (figuratively) deceit (“hypocrisy”).

The Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of Old and New Testament Words gives the following definition. Primarily, “a reply” came to mean “the acting of a stageplayer,” because such answered one another in dialogue; hence the meaning “dissembling or pretense.” It is translated as “dissimulation.” It is also found in Galatians 2:13 (NKJV): [13] And the rest of the Jews also played the hypocrite with him, so even Barnabas was carried away with their hypocrisy.

Hypocrisy is, henceforth, putting on a show. This therefore means, as communicated in 1 Timothy 4:1-5. In the last days, many people will depart from the faith because of deceiving spirits and the doctrines of demons, as they put on a religious act.

Deceiving spirits work in a way to make a person believe a lie. In this case, it is to get a person to think they can have a form of righteousness without any change in nature. That is, a changed heart and obedient lifestyle. A person who does not obey the scripture, choosing to be humble, instead makes life about themselves, is living in idolatry.

In 1 Samuel 15:23 (NKJV), there are two main points. First is rebellion, which is witchcraft, and the second is stubbornness, which is idolatry. [23] For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, He also has rejected you from being king.”

The words “is as” are not in the original Hebrew. Therefore, the actual translation is that rebellion is the sin of witchcraft. Stubbornness is iniquity and idolatry.

A person who does not submit to the Word of God. Live a lifestyle of obedience to God. Live humbly before God. Repent of sin and keep Jesus as the focus of their life. They are stubbornly worshipping themselves. To not submit to God means we are submitting to Satan. We are living as if we are gods. A hypocrite will have an outward expression of holiness, but be full of dead men’s bones.

In Matthew 23:27-29 (NKJV) we read: [27] “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs which indeed appear beautiful outwardly, but inside are full of dead men’s bones and all uncleanness. [28] “Even so, you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

There was only one kind of person that Jesus detested, and that was the religious. Why? Because religious people are hypocritical. They look good on the outside, but are lawless, dead, and full of wickedness on the inside.

In 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (NKJV) we read: [3:1] But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: [2] For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, [3] unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, [4] traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, [5] having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away!

The word denying in the Greek is G720. ἀρνέομαι arneómai, ar-neh'-om-ahee; it means to contradict, that is, disavow, reject, abnegate: --deny, refuse.

This gives us the understanding that the people mentioned in this passage of 2 Timothy 3:1-5 chose to reject godliness. They wanted to look like they were going to heaven, while being in bed with Satan.

Why do I say, “Being in bed with Satan”? When a person chooses Jesus as the LORD of their life. They are saying, I am now committed to Jesus, just like a husband and wife are committed to each other.

Matthew 19:5 (NKJV): [5] “and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’?

and

1 Corinthians 6:16-17 (NKJV): [16] Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.” [17] But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

When the scripture speaks of being one, it talks about complete unity. Being a Christian means we are united with God’s Holy Spirit. Anything less is hypocrisy; to be even more specific, it is spiritual adultery.

Jeremiah 3:6-9 (NKJV) communicates a clear account of God connecting idolatry with adultery. [6] The LORD said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: “Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot. [7] “And I said, after she had done all these things, ‘Return to Me.’ But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. [8] “Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also. [9] “So it came to pass, through her casual harlotry, that she defiled the land and committed adultery with stones and trees.

God spoke through His prophet Jeremiah that Israel and Judah, “sisters,” played the harlot. Their harlotry, as stated in verse nine, was adultery.

In Ezekiel 6:9 (NKJV) we read: [9] “Then those of you who escape will remember Me among the nations where they are carried captive, because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols; they will loathe themselves for the evils which they committed in all their abominations.

Ezekiel, the prophet, was led to communicate God’s anger against idolatry, and clearly said, “because I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols.”

This concludes that a religious person, who is hypocritical, is committing idolatry. In fact, they are devoted to Satan while portraying through words and actions that they love Jesus. This is what Jesus spoke against in Matthew 15:7-8 (NKJV): [7] “Hypocrites! Well, did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: [8] ‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me.

God is not moved by pious devotion. He does not hear or listen to the prayers of a hypocrite, for a hypocrite is not devoted to Him.

Now is the time to submit to God and keep His word. God has promised to forgive every sin, though we need to be adamant about humbling ourselves before God.

God made us a promise in Psalms 51:17 (NKJV): [17] The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, a broken and a contrite heart—These, O God, You will not despise.

If we humble ourselves before God. He will forgive us. He will give us a holy and righteous nature in His sight. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV): [17] Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Hypocrisy can be forgiven. Just because deception may lead a person astray. This does not mean God’s love is not available. Religious activity will never save anyone. Jesus is not looking for perfection. He is looking for repentance.

Ephesians 5:5 (NKJV) states: [5] For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. [6] Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. [7] Therefore, do not be a participant with them.

God will never be mocked. Hypocrisy is a mockery of God. Hypocrisy is pushing truth away and accepting a lie. God shows anger against this behavior. Romans 1:18 (NKJV): [18] For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,

More specifically, Romans 2:8 (AMP): [8] But for those who are self-seeking and self-willed and disobedient to the truth but responsive to wickedness, there will be indignation and wrath.

God wants to forgive all wickedness. However, acting righteous while living with hidden sin is hypocritical. God knows everything we do and is willing to forgive all unrighteousness. We must confess our sins and let the Holy Spirit lead our lives.

1 John 1:9 (NKJV): [9] If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
