Mark 4:36-41 (NKJV)
[36] Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. [37] And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. [38] But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” [39] Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. [40] But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” [41] And they feared exceedingly, and said to one another, “Who can this be, that even the wind and the sea obey Him!”
Jesus is always with us in the storm. This passage shows us the Jesus was with the disciples at the start of the storm. He was in the boat and even went to sleep. Storms are not pleasant in our life. Storms can range from hardship at work, financial troubles, marital issues, death or other concerns.
It is not about, if we encounter a storm, but when we encounter a storm. God has always promised to be with us in the midst of the storm. No matter what we go through, Jesus has promised to be with us.
John 14:15-18 (NKJV)
[15] “If you love Me, keep My commandments. [16] “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever— [17] “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. [18] “I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
Storms in our lives will always grow us. They will make us stronger if we allow them too. One of the great benefits of storms is we get to grow our faith and trust in God. When storms come, we are left with two options. Praying and trusting God or not trusting God. It is easy to misplace trust in the midst of a storm.
Though one of the greatest promises is knowing that God is in control of every storm. He will never allow us to endure more than we can handle.
1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV)
[13] No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
When storms come our way. We are easily tempted to respond incorrectly. Though God, in His wisdom, utilizes storms to grow us and to also bless us. For He always looks to bless His children. God may allow hardship, but He never leaves anyone alone, nor will allow anything to overtake us. He knows exactly how much each person can handle. He is truly in control of everything.
So the next time you are in a storm. Just look to Jesus, for He is with you.
PROPHECY
Thus Says The LORD,
My child, I never leave those who seek Me. Those who desire Me and make Me their God. I am always with My children. I know what each person experiences. I know the pain of life and am everywhere, seeing everything. I know and understand the hardship. I never promised that life would be easy or without hardship. I did promise to be with each person.
When a storm comes, one of the ways I make Myself known is by My presence. Even when everything seems to be working against you. I am working things out behind the scenes. You may not know how I am working things out. Though you can trust that I am for you and not against you.
My desire is to have people trusting Me and seeking Me. I want to be apart of every area of your life. I want you to include Me into your life. I know when things seems hard I may appear to be distant. Though I am a God who is close at hand.
Call unto Me and you will see that I am closer to you than you know.
Says The LORD.
