Many times, we may feel as if God is not paying attention to us. In those moments, we can easily get discouraged. Though God has always promised to be there for us, even when we feel He is not.

Psalms 34:15 (NKJV)
[15] The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous

In this verse, we see that God is deliberately keeping His focus on the righteous. He is expressing to us that we are important to Him. He is not distant, but rather more focused on our lives than we know. When we think about having eyes on something. It means that we are intent on knowing what is going on with the object. God will never let those who are righteous out of His sight.

In Psalms 34:15, the Hebrew word for righteous is H6662. צַדִּיק ṣadı̂yq, tsad-deek';
:--just, lawful, righteous (man).

This word, specifically means, one who is keeping the morals of the Word of God. To be considered righteous, we must live in obedience to God.

In Job 36:7 we can even see that God does not stop looking at the righteous

[7] He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous; But they are on the throne with kings, For He has seated them forever, And they are exalted.

God is so focused on the righteous person that He will not remove His eyes from that individual. The individual who keeps His life focused on making a lifestyle of obedience to God, has the Most Highs attention. To such a degree that God will never remove His eyes from this individual.

Another aspect to consider is the Fear of The Lord. We see in Psalms 33:18 the eyes of the lord are on those who fear Him.

Psalms 33:18
[18] Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy

The Fear of the Lord is specifically to depart from evil (cf. Proverbs 8:13).

When a person lives with the Fear of the LORD, they are considered righteous and the LORD promises to always have His eyes on that person.

Another promise for those who live righteously, is that God will hear their prayers.

1 Peter 3:12 (NKJV)
[12] For the eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their prayers; But the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.”

When we live righteously, we can know that God will hear our prayers. He will constantly keep watch over our lives.

So what does it really mean to be righteous?

Merriam-Webster Dictionary gives the following definition for Righteous.
-acting in accord with divine or moral law: free from guilt or sin

We also know that the Greek word for righteous in 1 Peter 3:12 is G1342. δίκαιος dikaiós, dik'-ah-yos;
equitable (in character or act); by implication innocent, holy (absolutely or relatively).
:--just, meet, right (-eous).

To live a life free from guilt or sin, one only needs to repent. Through repentance, we are declared righteous and get all the promises that God promises us through our obedience.

The Bible gives an example of God protecting a person for their righteousness. In Genesis 7:1, Noah is spared due to His righteousness.

Genesis [7:1] Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.

By understanding righteousness, we can know how we ought to live our lives. This will in turn bring us to a place of having God focused on us and giving us the peace of mind His eyes are always on us, and that He will always hear our prayers.

PROPHECY

Thus Says The LORD,

I will always keep you at the forefront of My mind. You will always be the focus of My eye when you live righteously.

I have done everything to ensure that every person will have access to Me. I have given all people, the ability to repent and make Me the LORD of their life. I have focused on making sure people will know who I am.

I am asking all people to repent and come to Me. So they will be My people and I will be their God. I have promised to always be close to those who seek Me. I have not made a relationship with Me difficult. Rather, I have focused since the world began, on being close to My creation.

If you will repent and live righteous, then you will know who I am. You will know that I am not angry with anyone. Rather, I desire that all people seek Me.

Says The LORD.
